e-FOCI Authentication FAQ

FAQs

  1. Why am I no longer able to login with my old e-FOCI username and password?

We replaced the previous login feature for e-FOCI with Login.gov and ID.me to bring the multifactor authentication used for this site in line with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards. In addition, new federal cybersecurity requirements are mandating increased authentication mechanisms for e-FOCI.

  2. I have an existing e-FOCI account, but I don't see my organization(s) listed when I login to e-FOCI. I only see the option to Register a New Organization or Associate an Email Address. What should I do?

If you aren't seeing your organization(s) listed when logged into e-FOCI, you most likely logged into OneID or ID.me with an email address that differs from what is associated with your account in e-FOCI. If you know the email address associated with your e-FOCI Account, click the "Associate Email Address" option and enter it in the Email Address field. If you would like to override the existing e-FOCI Email Address with the Authenticated Email Address, check the "make primary" box. Once you finish filling out the Email Association Request Form, click the "Request Email Association" button to finalize the submission. Once approved, this will tie the email address you used to login to ID.me or Login.gov to your existing e-FOCI account.

If you do not know your existing e-FOCI account email address, contact the e-FOCI HelpDesk and they will be able to assist you in locating this information.

  3. I need to register for a new e-FOCI account and have no prior organizations. What should I do?

After creating a login.gov or ID.me account, login to e-FOCI and select the option to register a new organization. Once your registration request has been submitted and approved by DOE, you will be able to access e-FOCI and fill out the necessary forms for your organization.

  4. Who should I contact if I'm having trouble using Login.gov?
